The FTC is holding its open meeting today, Thursday, September 19, 2024. The meeting will be streamed live, starting at 11 a.m. ET and running through 1:00 p.m. ET.
As noted, FTC Chair Lina Khan “will offer brief remarks and will then invite members of the public to share feedback on the Commission’s work generally and bring relevant matters to the Commission’s attention. . . . Each commenter will be given two minutes to share their comments.”
Although the agenda still does not include noncompetes, I know that at least one person will be speaking about the FTC’s noncompete rule. That would be me. I will be offering a brief summary of my views.
If you want a detailed history of the FTC’s rule and challenges through September 7, 2024, see ATS Tree Services noncompete case, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The FTC will be recording the meeting and making it available on its website afterward.
