As regular readers know, I focus on providing substantive content and rarely suggest educational programs to attend.
But, given that there is again an extraordinary amount of legislative, regulatory, and judicial activity affecting noncompetes and other restrictive covenants and that good CLE programs can be hard to identify, I thought I’d take a moment to call out a few upcoming, content-rich programs that I and leading practitioners, in-house counsel, experts, and others from around the country are participating in.

Fundamentals of Noncompetes 2025
Taking place in Manhattan on April 10, 2025, from 1:30 to 5:00 ET, the program will cover the following:
- An overview of restrictive covenant regulation
- Practical tips for drafting noncompete agreements and related restrictive covenants
- The basics of restrictive covenant litigation
This program is a primer for PLI’s all-day, in-depth look at restrictive covenant law, which will be on September 18, 2025, in Manhattan (and streamed).

Pacific Coast Labor & Employment Law Conference
Taking place in person in Seattle, Washington, on April 24 and 25, 2025. The program will cover a wide range of employment law issues, including “Restrictive Covenants and the New Era of Antitrust,” focusing on the legislative and regulatory landscape of restrictive covenants and their intersection with the FTC in the Trump Administration.

Though still in the planning stages, the program will take place in Chicago, Illinois, likely on May 6 or 7, 2025, from 9:00 to 1:30 ET.
